ABOUT DEVELOPMENTAL RESOURCES

Developmental Resources, Inc. of Chapin SC is an educational consulting firm that for the last 18 years has been offering continuing education seminars and national conferences throughout North America to educators and mental health professionals in areas specific to troubled youth, youth at risk, and more.

ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE

Working with difficult, demanding, and disruptive students is not a new challenge for educators. However, there are current concerns being voiced regarding the changing nature and intensity of the behaviors of these students. Some educators are reporting increases in selfish, manipulative and hostile behaviors while others are noticing a trend of more intensively challenging behaviors in younger students. This conference is designed to assist educators with identifying and addressing these and other issues that affect the academic and behavioral progress of all students.

This national gathering of educational professionals will provide much more than mere information about how to survive another year with troubled students. Instead, it will have an inspiring, refreshing slant through its celebration of the wide variety of strategies and recommendations that have been developed and used effectively by today’s best educators in dealing with challenging types of behaviors in students.

Many fresh programs, approaches, lessons and activities have been developed in recent years. No single program approach or technique will be featured at this conference. Instead, attendees will gain valuable opportunities to learn about many different recommended ways others have found to be effective in handling, connecting with and helping to unlock the potentials of many different kinds of challenging students. Each session speaker has been asked to provide attendees with reproducible handouts that attendees can take back to their schools and share with their colleagues/staff, students, &/or parents. In addition, attendees will be provided with opportunities to network with colleagues from around the country on specific cases of challenging students.
